From Emancipation to Aspiration

The Texas African American History Memorial stands on the grounds of the Texas State Capitol in Austin, honoring generations of courage, sacrifice, achievement, and cultural contribution. Richly detailed bronze figures trace a journey from slavery and emancipation through education, leadership, military service, and the continuing pursuit of freedom and equality. #TexasAfricanAmericanHistoryMemorial #AfricanAmericanHistory #BlackHistory #Emancipation #TexasHistory #TexasStateCapitol #AustinTexas #PublicArt #BronzeSculpture #HistoricMonument #EngelPhotography
