Agate Bridge Across Time

Agate Bridge Across Time
Agate Bridge spans a rugged gully in Arizona’s Petrified Forest National Park, its massive fossilized trunk preserved from a forest that existed more than 200 million years ago. Once known as Natural Bridge, the petrified log is supported by a concrete beam installed in 1917 as an early effort to preserve the landmark. Set against weathered rock, desert vegetation, and the vast Painted Desert beyond, this panoramic view captures a remarkable intersection of prehistoric history and human preservation.
