Petrified Passage

Petrified Passage
Agate Bridge stretches across a desert gully in Arizona’s Petrified Forest National Park, where an ancient petrified tree has endured for millions of years. Once known as Natural Bridge, the massive fossilized log is now supported by a concrete beam installed in 1917 to help preserve the landmark. Surrounded by weathered rock, juniper, and expansive views of the Painted Desert, Agate Bridge offers a striking glimpse into both the prehistoric landscape and the early preservation history of the park.
