Created from 382 stacked exposures, the image highlights the textured solar photosphere along with dark active regions where intense magnetic fields reduce the surface temperature, making them appear darker than their surroundings. These constantly changing sunspots are often associated with solar flares and other dynamic solar activity, offering a fascinating glimpse into the ever-changing nature of our closest star.
