Sol in White Light – Sunspots and Solar Activity

Sol in White Light – Sunspots and Solar Activity
This white-light image of Sol, the star at the center of our Solar System, was created by stacking 80 exposures captured with the Dwarf Lab Mini. Several distinct sunspot groups are visible across the Sun's photosphere, marking regions of intense magnetic activity that are often associated with solar flares and other energetic events. Although the Sun appears calm to the naked eye, its surface is constantly changing as these active regions evolve over days and weeks. The term "solar" comes from the Latin word Sol, the proper name of Earth's star and the namesake of our Solar System. Always use certified solar filters when observing or photographing the Sun.
